Where we install minimal-frame sliding doors

Minimal Frame Projects UK surveys, manufactures, delivers and installs minimal-frame sliding door systems across Greater London and the Home Counties, and on projects throughout the UK. Every system we supply — the MFP18 range, MFP 20 and MFP 25, Solarlux cero III, Ecoline S and Highline S, and the Vitrocsa range — is installed by our own MFP-trained teams, with Swiss-trained fitters for Vitrocsa.

Where you are changes less than you might think about what we specify, and more than you might think about how we install it. A minimal-frame sliding door is a heavy piece of structural glass: one panel can weigh several hundred kilograms, and the opening has to be measured, set out and supported to tolerances most building work is not held to. Coverage therefore means more than a delivery radius — it means a surveyed opening, a planned access route and fitters who have set that system before.

Where our projects are

Greater London

Every London borough, from Victorian terraces in the inner boroughs to new-build schemes further out. In London the constraint is rarely the door and almost always the access: how a 500 kg pane reaches a rear garden or an upper floor, and where the crane or hoist can stand.

Surrey, Kent and Sussex

The counties we work in most often from our South West London base. Detached and extended homes, garden rooms and pool houses, where wide openings on a single level are the usual brief and flush thresholds matter for terrace access.

Hampshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire

Large single-storey extensions, barn conversions and riverside projects. Timber and steel frames, sloping ground and existing level changes are all resolved at the survey before anything is manufactured.

Hertfordshire, Essex and the Home Counties

Replacement of older sliding or bi-folding installations with a slimmer system, and new openings cut into existing rear elevations where the structural head detail has to be confirmed first.

Nationwide delivery and installation

MFP18, MFP 20/25, Solarlux and Vitrocsa projects are delivered and installed throughout the UK by our own MFP-trained teams, with Swiss-trained fitters for Vitrocsa. Travel and access requirements are set out in your quotation.

Commercial, trade and developer projects

Hospitality, retail and multi-unit residential schemes, and supply-only or supply-and-install packages for builders, developers and architects who are running the wider programme themselves.

Not sure whether we cover your postcode? Send it with your enquiry and we will confirm, along with the nearest completed project of the same system.

Survey

What a site survey confirms

The survey is where a minimal-frame opening is either made straightforward or quietly made difficult. These are the things we confirm before an order goes into manufacture.

  • The exact structural opening — width, height, head detail and floor build-up.
  • Threshold level, drainage and any external ground levels that affect a flush track.
  • Panel weight and the route each pane takes to the opening, including crane or hoist access.
  • Fixing detail and the structural support the frame needs to carry the panels.
  • Electrical supply and switch positions where panels are to be motorised.
  • Making good, reveals and finishes where the new track meets the existing building.
Delivery

How a project runs, from enquiry to handover

  1. 01

    Enquiry and technical review

Send your opening, drawings or a plan and we review what the space can take before anyone measures anything — including whether the system you had in mind will physically fit and which alternatives would serve you better.

  2. 02

    Survey and dimensions

We survey the opening on site and confirm the dimensions, threshold, access and fixing detail that the specification depends on. Nothing goes into manufacture until those are agreed.

  3. 03

    Specification and quotation

You receive the system, its published figures, the glazing build and the installation scope in writing, so the quotation can be compared like for like rather than against a headline figure.

  4. 04

    Manufacture

Panels are made to the surveyed dimensions by the manufacturer, with lead times confirmed in writing against your programme and your builder's dates.

  5. 05

    Delivery and access planning

Panel weights, delivery routes, parking and lifting are planned before the delivery day, so the largest panes arrive with a route to the opening rather than a problem to solve on the pavement.

  6. 06

    Installation and handover

Our own teams set the tracks, hang and align the panels, commission the hardware and walk the operation through with you — including adjustment, cleaning and care.

Coverage and installation questions

Do you install outside London and the Home Counties?

Yes. MFP18, MFP 20/25, Solarlux and Vitrocsa projects are installed throughout the UK by our own MFP-trained teams. The same specification and installation standards apply nationwide; travel and any access requirements are set out in the quotation so there are no surprises later.

Do you survey before quoting?

We review your dimensions and drawings first and price from those, then survey the opening on site to confirm the structural opening, threshold detail, drainage, fixing and access before anything is manufactured. The surveyed dimensions are what the panels are made to.

How does a large glass panel reach a first-floor or rear-garden opening?

Panel weight and the delivery route are assessed at the survey. Where a pane cannot be carried in by hand, we plan a crane or hoist lift, agree where it can stand, and schedule the delivery around it. This is normal for minimal-frame work: a single panel can weigh several hundred kilograms.

Can you work with my architect, builder or project manager?

Yes. We work to architects' drawings and issue the technical specification, sightline figures and setting-out detail for the build, then survey and install to the builder's programme. Supply-only packages are available where your contractor prefers to manage the installation.

How long does an installation take?

It depends on the system, the number of panels and the opening. What governs it is panel count and weight, whether a crane lift is needed, the threshold and drainage works at the reveal, the weather on the day, and the electrical connection for motorised panels. The programme for your project is confirmed in writing with the order.

Do you cover my postcode?

Almost certainly — if you are in the UK, tell us your postcode with your enquiry and we will confirm coverage, the nearest completed project and the likely access requirements for your opening.

Send us the opening and your postcode

Tell us where the project is and what the opening looks like, and we will confirm coverage, the system that suits it and a quotation — usually within 14 hours.
